Nature at your doorstep?

Was at BTNR last Sunday for the volunteer orientation and evening guided walk. These days, if you go to the hill, you will see the following structure. Viewed from the overhead bridge, it looks like we are operating a canopy crane for research in our forest!

Canopy Crane?

Well, it's nothing as excited as that. They are building a condominium on the land in front of Hindhede Nature Park. Previously, the land was occupied by some factory.

I can't resist taking a pix of this billboard. Beautiful tag line but nature can be such a vague word, akin to the word- nice. To some people, a tufted course is nature too!

I also love the banners that they hanged up along the road leading to the show room. The illustrations are beautiful. Meet some of your neighbours, each of them says.

I hope people will not miss another banner nearby, for you will definitely meet one of your most friendly neighbours in your neighbourhood- the Long-tailed Macaques! Don't invite them to your home for tea though because feeding of monkeys is an offence, as clearly spelled in this right-in-your-face-sized banner. But there are gate crahers among the group so make sure your entrances are monkey-proof.

It's great to have nature at your doorsteps. If I strike Toto, I will consider buying a unit there. Imagine you guys can come over for a swim after volunteering at BTNR, ha ha. And anyone who is interested to do insect survey can use one of my rooms as a light trap.
